Bladder stone and kidney stone

49 year old man was referred for ultrasound due to gross haematuria. Ultrasound showed a 3cm stone in the urinary bladder. The left image showed a large echogenic focus with very strong acoustic shadowing. The right image showed reverberation artifact - typical of a stone. The bladdder wall is thickened indicating chronic cystitis.

Scans of his kidney showed a 4mm stone in the lower pole of right kidney. Similarly, reverbration artifact is present.

His KUB x-ray showed a large bladder stone in the pelvis.
